Ramadan: A Blessed Month with Countless Opportunities

We are nearly halfway through the month of Ramadan, which is a unique and bountiful time for Muslims across the globe. It presents itself with many opportunities and blessings and gives its observers the chance to refine their character and achieve piety. By focusing on undertaking good deeds, increasing their acts of charity, controlling their thoughts and temperament, reflecting with thankfulness on the blessings in their lives, practicing patience and sharing the most joyous time of iftar with family, friends and community, the fasting person is elevated emotionally and spiritually. It is truly a month of countless opportunities.

The Pastoral Care team at Sirius College enjoys organising a range of programs for our students to ensure they truly experience the beautiful, unifying spirit of Ramadan. Iftar dinners hosted by our students and their families for their friends and teachers is a highlight for all, with many bonds established and strengthened with each occasion. Outings and collective reflection and discussion sessions enable our students engage in thought provoking and inspiring conversations and learn from one another.

The Mother’s Day Iftar Program has been a great opportunity to meet our mothers and celebrate the Sirius College community by sharing a beautiful meal and a meaningful program. Student performances, as well as the keen interest and participation of our mothers, has made this a special occasion we will all remember fondly.

We thank all our parents who have accepted our invitations to open their houses for these iftars or allowed their daughters to attend or have taken part in school-organised initiatives and look forward to sharing many more valuable gatherings with all our school community for many more years to come.
